Apple reported today that it has received a record four million first-day orders for its new iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus phones, meaning many customers will have to wait until October to get their hands on their devices.
The company says that a significant number of phones will start shipping from this Friday, but many others will ship from October, as demand is outstripping supply.
The first orders for the new phone from the apple brand double those received in the same period for the iPhone 5 in 2012.
The new models will be available in stores in the United States, Canada, Australia and some other countries starting Friday. Carriers like AT&T, Sprint, T-Mobile and Verizon and other authorized Apple resellers will also market them starting that day.
