NASA will not build the ships to take its astronauts into space. The US space agency has just announced the multimillion-dollar contract it has awarded to companies Space X and Boeing to transport cargo and people to the International Space Station (ISS).
Gone are the years of the space shuttles that have remained more in memory for the serious accidents they were involved in than for their service to space science.
The goal of no longer depending on Russia and its Soyuz aircraft to carry astronauts to the ISS is still alive at NASA headquarters. But the responsibility now falls on private companies. In the videoblog From THE WORLD to the Cosmos, we analyze the importance of this historical event in the conquest of space.
