In the Balearic Islands the winds have been from force 7 to 8 and waves from 4 to 6 meters. The strong waves have left numerous damages in the urbanization of S'Algar, in Sant Lluís (Menorca), where the force of the sea has managed to break concrete blocks in the area of the promenade.
The beaches and coastline, especially in the Llevant region, also suffered the consequences of the storm. An example was the sandbank of Cala Nau (Cala Millor, in Mallorca) which was practically destroyed and exposed the rocks under the sand.
In the city of Valencia, the strong waves have reached the houses of the Casbah urbanization and have broken a section of the promenade, which last night forced the eviction of two families who lived in this area.
The Valencian Community is one of those affected by the maritime storm, with waves of up to 6 meters, which have caused significant damage in several coastal towns. On the Almenara promenade (Castellón), the water has flooded the first line of the beach, while in Cullera (Valencia) the promenade has been flooded.
